In 1979, Heavy Metal/Hard Rock was considered dead by the mainstream media, but in 1980 (with the onset of the NWOBHM) Heavy Metal did indeed rise anew. These two years (1979 and 1980) were pivotal years for Heavy Metal. Then Circus magazine in June 1980 writes about the NWOBHM - England's Heavy Metal Explosion, highlighted by a young Def Leppard (when they were at their best as a young hard rocking band).
