Overkill 25th Anniversary NYC Nokia Theater Show Poster

The infamous 25th anniversary show at the Nokia Theater, Time Square NYC!!! May 1st 2010. The show that not even a terrorist car bomb could stop!!!!

I was one of the few that managed to get back into the venue after the streets had been sealed off by police due to a car bomb that had been planted in close proximity to the venue.

I initially went out to grab some food, walking directly past the car loaded with explosives set to go off, which I obviously wasn't aware of. On my way back there were cops cars and fire trucks everywhere; most of the streets surrounding the area had been sealed off, and from what I understand most buildings were evacuated; hotels, restaurants, businesses etc. Everything except for the Nokia Theater, which is located a few stories underground, and filled to the brim with screaming mad fucking Overkill maniacs! Something a little more dangerous for the police to disarm than a car bomb!

I managed to find my way around the other side of the venue through all of the mayhem and people running all around and got back inside before they closed the doors and locked all of us inside.

Back inside, underground, literally beneath all of the chaos, Overkill fucking DESTORYED it! What a way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of one of America's greatest underground thrash metal legends! Literally underground playing beneath a fucking car bomb!!!
