Revenge VVAR Battle Jacket II

Hello GUYS I am from China! Finally finished my new battle jacket and wanted to share it with everyone from the VVORLD! Also documenting this journey of passion!

The base is a goatskin vest, which I completely disassembled and hand-stitched.The process of arranging and laying out the patches was a back-and-forth struggle!

First and foremost, I made sure every band on it is one I genuinely love and have listened to, keeping the overall music style somewhat consistent. Then, I aimed for harmony in the color scheme and the specific designs of each patch. Of course, I also wanted to layer patches, but I personally dislike overlapping too much of the patch designs. Additionally, considering the different patch craftsmanship (embroidery/woven leather) and edge-cutting styles, achieving perfection in every aspect was no easy task! As the “patch king” Lxy rightly said, "The more patches you have, the more options you get for layout!" It's so true! But obsessing too much over the jacket's appearance or chasing perfection defeats the very purpose of a battle jacket, so "good enough" is good enough!

For the bands, I placed the ones that are especially meaningful or my favorites on the chest, the bottom front row, and the bottom back row. The choice for the large back patch goes without saying. While the layout isn't deliberately symmetrical, many placements still create a sense of balance—see for yourselves!

I also want to mention that many patches on this jacket were hard-won: some were brought back by friends from TaiwanChina, Germany, Malaysia, Thailand, and Canada; others were group-ordered with friends, who helped with online overseas shopping from France; some came from affordable group buys conscientious domestic labels (thanks to @香山大马猴BHMOXM and GUT @Huangquan Records); there were also warm gestures from a few friends who parted with their treasured patches for me; and even friends who remembered patches I wanted, gifting me theirs right off their own jackets at shows 😆, or saving bands I love for me when selling patches... (Too many to tag everyone!). The jacket also includes two incredibly meaningful and precious patches brought to me from special places by very important people. Though some things have changed, these gestures of kindness will always be remembered.

In the end, I'm both satisfied and dissatisfied with the result. Satisfied because it's finally completed according to my vision; dissatisfied because, at first glance, there might be a bit too much white on the front, and I feel like some parts aren't perfectly aligned. Maybe I'll try something simpler and cleaner for the next one!
