Dio Battlevest 2

My second ever vest, the first one doesn't exist anymore (wasn't anything noteworthy anyway, just a black button up shirt where I cut off the sleeves and put some buttons on). Started this project in winter last year, oddly enough inspired by the movie Labyrinth. I just really liked the whole wide shirt + vest combo some of the costumes had going on there, wanted something like that myself and figured I could actually turn the vest into a proper battlevest, cause why the heck not.

Been getting some shit for putting so many non-music related patches on there, but I don't care. I need my vest to represent me, and there is more than just my taste in music to me, so tough luck ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Also not a trophy vest, got a lot of shit for that too, but man, I so don't give a hoot. I also prefer to not have the same stuff going on as everybody else.

Took me some really hard work (and quite some cash) to gather all the patches on there, since I am rather picky. People tell me I look like a pirate when I wear this vest, to which I say: Yes, thank you, best compliment, bless you. Oh yeah, I added the lacing on the sides myself. I had ordered the bare vest off Ebay, but it turned out to be a bit more tighter fitting than expected, hence the lacing. Not that I ever wear it closed anyway, but eh. Still looks good, imo.

Some words about the more unusual additions:
1. Those two tin pins on the pocket are left overs from my LARPing days. Had some free space and figured I could use them. Historical replicas based on tin pins from the 16th century.
2. The The Gone Jackals and the LucasArts patches are hand-embroidered by me.
3. The circular patch with the bird on the back bottom left is Orphaned Land. Not a fan of this patch design, but it's sadly the only one they where selling at the venue I went to :(
4. Yes, I am a massive nerd, sue me. They see me rollin', they hatin ;)

For now the vest is more or less "finished" (if a vest can ever really *be* finished), so I doubt I'll do any major adjustments in the near-ish future, aside from maybe adding another few patches (and moving/replacing other ones in the process).

Not for sale or trade

Danke dir :D Den Asterix & Obelix Patch hab ich vor vielen Jahren mal im Supermarkt gekauft, bin froh, dass ich endlich Verwendung für den gefunden habe.

Epic backpatch! Never played D&D, but I always feel drawn towards it. Never able to find a group though. Also love the Lucas Arts patch, loved a lot of their games growing up. Oh and Hitchhikers Guide!

Thanks a lot! Finding a group these days is easier than ever, thanks to plattforms like Roll20. Just make sure you have a webcam and a headset. And other than that, usually the local gaming store can help you find a group, I'd ask there if I where you. They also often do beginner rounds for different systems, can recommend.
And yeah, LucasArts was my entire childhood, love their games to bits.

Tnx for the info!

Nice taste in music and other hobbies. Always wanted to try D&D, I've actually been thinking of getting a massive printed Black Lotus patch (Magic The Gathering) for one of my kuttes

Thank you :D A Black Lotus patch sounds like a marvelous idea, I have a Black Lotus card box with fitting sleeves for my old deck.

Most welcome :) indeed, if I had painting skills that would look better... Nice one! Always liked that set, what sort of deck you run?

I used to play green with red and white support. But I haven't played in years, due to lack of fun people to play with. Did play some of the newer video games, but they become boring rather quickly. Would love if they did a remake/sequel of that old magic based RPG from the 90s, but oh well.

Wicked. Yeah can understand that, I stopped for sometime looking to start again. Not played the New video games. Have the 90s one too. Classic.

Oldschool TSR D&D art was the best! \m/
