Slayer Battle Vest Update

This is an update of my vest that I now wear daily. When I first posted it, I didn't ever wear it because of how large it was and how far the sides flared out. I fixed that by cutting the sides down and then sewing them back up with upholstery string which you can see in the pictures below. I've also added the Toxic Holocaust triangle and the Pestilence patch.
The front hasn't changed since I last posted it because I can't decide on a layout. What my initial idea was to do all classic rock and heavy metal (Deep purple, Rush, Hendrix, etc...) on the left and all punk and hardcore on the right.
The last picture is the patches I have left to work with so any suggestions would be appreciated!

Nice stitching along the side, and the studs on the back side look pretty killer. You just have to get that Walls of Jericho patch on there somewhere and you'll be set....that album slays

thanks man honestly, i just started listening to helloween a few months ago because for the longest time I wasnt a fan of the vocals but they (and other bands with similar vocalists) have definitely grown on me.

There you go young man!! somebody not afraid of the whip and lock stitch!! Fuckin Awsome that looks FUCKING EXACTLY!!! what mine and other peoples style of sewing on patches looked liked in the 80s!! FANTASTIC! I used red thread, fuckin white thread, blue thread or whatever I had. Nice!

Thank you so much! I am very particular about my stitching but I still feel like I have a ways to go until I'm really good at it, I still occasionally have problems with stitches coming loose. And I honestly just got bored of matching thread color and border color because then you can't show off the stitch work!

Well what we use to do if it was a iron on we would iron them then stitch them if it wasn't an iron then we would glue them down with rubber cement or whatever was available. Some of us just stole rubber cement from school and glued the fuckers down. If your using embroidery thread or tent and awning thread there is no way there coming undone. I wish I knew how to down load some pics for ya. Only difference was we left our sleeves on but damn that brings back some memories.

Well I'm glad it gives you some nostalgia! It's still a work in progress and I'll keep uploading pictures as it progresses. I'll keep an eye out to see if you get some pictures uploaded, I would love to see some true old school jackets!
