So the 'straps' are more for appearance instead of actual support? Interesting concept. :-)

No i think that's an off-shoulder top.

Nah I think she cut the shirt to make it look as if there's a tank top underneath. Because actual tank tops give support, and this wouldn't. First time I'm seeing something like this, which is interesting.

When i made this i cut of the neck but it was way too big so i madesome 'straps' so i wouldn't be standing in my bra all the time xd it's actually for 'supporting' as you may call it. :p the sleeves do fall of my shoulders :p
It's indeed something weird and it wasn't what i wanted in the first place but when i wear it, it does look nice :p

I really like what you've done with this. I love it when a feminine touch is added to something that would otherwise be masculine. Might try it out on one of my bigger shirts! :D

i only buy male shirts and most of the time L or XL when i just need a M. so i can always adjust them if i want to :p because girly band shirts are 95% of the time shit :p

LikkedbyDeath's picture

Same here. Girly shirts are always too tight in the wrong places. I need room to breathe! ;D
But good god men, sort out your sizing. I hate how some Ms are closer to Ss and others are more like Ls lol.
So you just take them apart at the sides and sew it back to whatever size you want?

PinkPony's picture

Yeah or i just wear way too big shirts and don't give a shit xd but when i have my own sewing machine i'll adjust them all :p but it's handy because whenever i want to buy a shirt and they don't have my size i just pick something else, even when it's too big :p

LikkedbyDeath's picture

Lol yeah you can always pass it off as a makeshift dress. :D
Problem is that either the shoulders are far too wide or when you cut the sleeves off, the holes are massive and your bra is showing from the side. Wish the manufacturers/shirt designers would think of us girls more lol.

yeah i have a few shirts (the one from skid row that is on my profile) i did just cut of the sleeves and it's like weird because it is too big. but i always wear something under it because it's starting to get cold again :p

LikkedbyDeath's picture

Cold?? Ahh I'm jealous.

asian sizing?
I'm an international L, but an asian XL.

5
LikkedbyDeath's picture

International S and an Asian S/M. It's especially frustrating when it comes to buying things online. I have at least three differently sized S shirts in my closet lol.

Contact them for exact sizing info. a lot of smaller distros will do this for you.
or check what brand the shirts are pressed onto.
that also helps.

Didn't think of that. Silly me.

there are preset fabric patterns and curved rulers you can buy that will make turning a dude's shirt into a chick shirt way easier.
I havent personally used them but ive seen them used and it would probably speed things up a lot.

What are those things called? I've neither seen nor heard of em. They sound like a godsend!

I don't know. I saw my sister use them lol.
Fabric templates or patterns i think.
PM Chemical Burn. Good chance she'll know.

Yeah I don't really understand what you've done here that would take three hours, it does look as though some of the fabric has just been cut off. Good shirt of a good band though!

PinkPony's picture

i had to made the shirt itself a bit smaller because it was XL or something. and then i had to do the neck :p it's hard to explain in english ... xD and then i had to made the 'straps' :p and those took me like forever xd but i'm buying a sewing machine very soon (i hope xd) so something like this would take me like 15min :p

Blüdrayne's picture

maybe she hemmed the edges of the neck?
by hand it would take some time.

5
PinkPony's picture

yes! i think that's what i was trying to explain :p

Blüdrayne's picture

see i'm a genius! :D

  • Firstly, the shirt is old. As they were only printed in Australia by MIM there’s not many of them, especially in LS.
