A friend and I dropped in at The Tote in Melbourne on a Sunday night, not really expecting much. There was a Japanese trio in the lineup called Teratova, neither of us had heard of them. We thought we'd give them a go and paid our door money. These guys then proceeded to completely blow our minds for nearly an hour. A mixture of sequencer and live drumming, combined with two guitarists that maintained this gloriously huge wall of noise. It shifted and shimmered, rocking the place and shaking the floor, without a break for the whole set. Was it metal? We don't know what it was! But if they had performed at any metal gig or festival they would have more than got away with it! The guys performing had this Bhutto-like intensity and dedication. They took low bows at the end and the audience just went insane, it was a standing ovation across the entire house. For about 5 minutes all my friend and I could say was "F**k!...". Later on we discovered only the drummer spoke English and only very little (fair enough, I don't speak any Japanese!), but we shook all their hands with lots of smiling and bowing. It was a great night. The drummer was running a small merch stand, and that's where I picked up this beautiful tee. Its a little small on me, but I always took that as an incentive to lose weight. :) The design is just breathtaking. Enjoy!
