Mists Of Poveglia - CD collection

Here's another collection of CD's, this time from Dark Ambient/Neo-Classical (including Drone/Experimental) project Mists of Poveglia, from the UK. Often referred to as one of the first 'Winter Ambient' acts.

This is a side-project of Lord Forneus, who's involved in many other bands in the Black Metal, Doom and Noise genres (amongst others) including Damp Dungeon, Darkened Monestary, Doom Projekt, and Grímsvötn. Phew!

To explain the name - Poveglia is a rundown, uninhabited island, situated in the lagoon between Venice and the seaside resort of Lido in northern Italy. Reputedly one of the most haunted places on Earth, during the Bubonic Plague in the 1600's bodies were taken over, dumped and burned to such an extent that even today, the soil composition of the entire island is said to be >50% human ash! The island's subsequent history involves hosting a mental asylum, so stories of hauntings, ghouls and general scary-bollocks are now rife...
