Megadeth Gear Case Tape

So this kinda has a story, and whether or not you believe it is your choice.

Basically what happened was Megadeth was coming to Alberta (the province of where I live) but not the city I live in. My brother was able to go, and it was an 18+ show so I couldn't go being too young (I was in grade 6). My brother told me he would bring something back for me from the tour, and I expected a tshirt or something. A couple days later, they got back from the trip to the city and my brother came in and he didnt have anything with him, no tshirt or anything; which obviously made me pretty damn disappointed. However, in his pocket my brother pulled out this tape with the word "Megadeth" written on it, I didnt know what it was and what he told me amazed me, and to this day still does. What he told me was that he had no cash for a shirt, so I what he did was he and his friend (he vouched for this as well) snuck back stage, found the gear they have just sitting around in behind and saw the tape that was on a case. They snuck up to it, and ripped it off just before a security guard came by almost catching them. They ran off with it, and he stuck it in his pocket, and gave it to me.

So basically, what it is, is a piece of tape that was once on a gear case for Megadeth. It sounds like bullshit, which I doubt doubt for a lot of you, but to me its fucking awesome and while it has no real value to me, its full of sentimental value. If you choose to believe my story, I think you'll agree that this is full of metal and is fucking awesome. \m/

I don't see why it's lame and perfectly believable. Only thing is, I would have had doubts if I were you if you found out this handwriting look a little bit too much as your brothers or his friends...

Yeah I realize that now of course at this age, but at the time I totally believed them. To this day I still hold true that it was legit, both him and his friend are extremely loyal and basically have never told a lie in their life kinda thing. They don't bullshit about anything, and my brother still tells me it was real so I like to believe him and that it is. As well on that note, it looks like neither of their hand writing (obviously there's more ways than one to do something like this) but I find its more enjoyable to believe it personally than to ponder on the legitimacy on it.

You are defs right on in that there are plenty of ways to doubt the authenticity of it though, that's why its 100% sentimental and no true value to it. It's more of the story, not the item itself.

Oh and yeah believe me when I say I believe it's legit. Just thought it would be really obvious if it was though. It's the same as both my pieces of the Berlin wall and the chinese wall I got when I was a child from my father who travels alot for business.. COuld it be regular rocks he picked up for me to make me happy? sounds more easy to believe then that he went to both those walls and broke off a piece. But I like to believe I own piece of both the chinese and the berlin wall. Know what I'm saying?

Oh I hear ya for sure, definitely one of those things that's just more of a personal thing. Its for sure a lot nicer to think that its the real, takes a certain level of faith, that's for sure. I think id be less inclined to believe it, if my brother wasn't the way he is. If he was a guy who bullshitted a lot and that kinda stuff, I'd be highly skeptical. I def know what you're saying though.
