So france huh ? Any good small venue shows, with good heavy music where you are ? I'm thinking of taking my 14 yr old daughter to slayer, anthrax, and death angel in st louis missouri on the 22nd. It would be her first real metal show. I did take her to ted nugent when she was about 6 months old.

Oh yes, there is a good concert earlier this year precisely I saw Slayer and Anthrax, it was very cool, she will love ;)
I'm not too far from paris and also hellfest, so a lot of concert here !

Are there a lot of local metal bands in france ? Even thrash, or death metal local bands ? Who are some of the haven't made it big yet talents, that you think might blow up ?

There are many local group, but very few are known.
Gojira which I think is one of the most famous in France!
groups with good potential I would say, ETHS, Loudblast, AqME, Dagoba, Black Bomb A, Mass Hysteria why not.
Of course, there are a lot of groups that I do not know yet ;)
On the other hand most of the french groups are more extreme metal :/

Yea, I think I've seen gojira in st louis missouri, with some other bands, but your right, I've never heard of the others. It's kinda hard to remember all the bands, when there's more than 3 at a show, since my first one was in 1979, lol ! And I used to play for decades, open for many of the famous bands. Maybe it's that short term memory loss thing, LOL !
