Sick. Do you think all these color variations were intentional?
Heavy Metal Chemist on
I really have no idea mate. I expected that with modern techniques they would be able to perfectly reproduce pressings. I have no idea how these back patches are actually produced and how the coloring works. Maybe someone else is knowledgeable on the topic and can enlighten us π€π π€

Ya you would think. Either way, your collection is legendary. ππ»

Thank you for the compliment mate! π€ππ€ I really appreciate your kind words. I'm just a fan of Maiden and of patches, so it's the ultimate combination to go crazy and nerdy π€ on π

I don't think color variations are intentional, it's just that the screen on the screep printing machin opens which allows more ink to transfer to the garment. So technically the one on the right shouls be the original pressing.

That's interesting π€ So you say that despite modern techniques these significant variations can happen? I really expected this process to be more reproducible, even from batch to batch. But, if you are right, one would expect that there are more color variations of modern patches out there π€ππ€

Although there could be lighter versions of course, and yeah, anyone who does screen printing could tell you about those issues with the ink going through. It shouldn't hallen of course but this is the result.

This is very cool! Whether it is intentional or not, having a unique variant of a piece is very satisfying βοΈ Of course it is also fitting that someone searching keenly for different versions would snag this one π

Thanks mate! This was an unintentional find π I had one in my collection, but wanted one for a vest. I immediately noticed the difference, so instead of going on a vest it went straight into my collection π
Cardboardcity on
Even better I suppose because it was a nice surprise and not something you had to pay a unique premium for π€ Haha does that suggest that you might need a third for a vest π
