Suicidal Tendencies/ Exodus/ Slayer ticket stub

....ticket stub for 'Day on the Dirt'/ 1984 at the Aquatic Park in Berkeley. Suicidal Tendencies/ Exodus/ Slayer. There were a handful of other bands of which I don't recall. I do recall seeing a band called Diesieger and earlier that day Blue Cheer played! (they were great!) I remember sitting down and talking with Tom Araya for about 20 minutes or a half an hour. I spoke with him about a metal band that I was in at the time. He was very encouraging to speak with and just an amazing person overall. The whole day was hot and dry but when Slayer came on, the fog from the bay started drifting into the park. Perfect ambiance! Kerry King's bright red BC Rich had been burnt black in spots. I watched him unpack his guitar and immediately wondered what happened to it! So did somebody else and actually yelled out that point. "Hey Kerry! What did you do to your guitar?" He looked up and quizzically remarked, "who said that?, who said that?", but there was no response. That's because at that moment, someone else in the crowd recognized the voice and yelled out, "R. Burch is a faggot!" The reaction was immediate from Burch's behalf as he tore through the crowd promising to kill whoever said that! When it began, Slayer were great! They played tracks off of their newest release, 'Haunting the Chapel'! Then Exodus came up afterwards and destroyed what already was'nt before! The "Exodus attack", indeed. As it came time towards the headliners for the day, Suicidal Tendencies, I had to bounce back towards S.F. and beyond as they were coming onstage. (long story)

....so stoked that someone looked in and caught these posts! "Cheers!" And by the way, R. Burch. "Bang that head that does'nt bang!" The quote from the back of the 1st Metallica lp. I used to see this cat at the (Record) Vault in S.F. in the mid 80's when I would shop there or just hang out.
