Here's a prized possession in my collection - an original Duncan Storr water-colour used as the basis for the front cover artwork for "Old Rope".
It's based on another of his pictures, 'The Hanging Tree', which Martin and gang took a shine too and so Duncan adapted that picture to become this one, which then became the final cover used on the album.
I bought this directly from Duncan this year (what a lovely chap he is too) and by rights it should have been framed by now, but for the problems that the C-19 pandemic has wrought. Something to be completed in the New Year, I think.
Photos at the bottom show Duncan with the piece, and it next to his earlier 'Hanging Tree' picture.
Very proud to be able to own this piece of Skyclad history!

This is a wonderful acquisition! What a great piece of art, and very cool to see it alongside the original work that inspired it!

Thanks, appreciate the kind words. Duncan really did do some top-notch work for Skyclad, a shame that the artwork from their early albums is long sold!
