I will never understand "iconography" of this band...

I don't think they themselves knew what purpose they were using it for. I'm sure it didn't have a meaning other than the obvious reference. They don't use it at the moment but nobody there had a problem with it at the time (or they wouldn't have printed it). I'm sure most of the problems arose when their merchandise started shipping over seas in the later years. I don't think they would have guessed it could end up in the hands of fanatics all over the world.
Still, Mein Kampf and Harkenkreuz (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_708LUfdobE) seem to get more heat than these guys. And even though they all (truthfully) claim it's only for shock imagery, it's something that will probably never be accepted over here. And that's perhaps the only thing I dislike about these bands - that they will always bring with them these discussions that i'm mostly forced to participate in when I want to express my "love" for their music.

Agree with you, nice explanation. I don't doubt in your attitude concerning this and I didn't want to drag you in some endless discussion.
I will always think that this kind of promotion is, at least, inappropriate.

inappropriate - maybe, but you cant really apply western socio-political filters/frame of reference to what these bands were doing at the time and place they were doing it. i see you are from eastern eu but of course most of that area was deeply affected by things concerning their imagery and of course as such has a much more westernized point of view.
