Mengele was quite popular name in Finnish speed/thrash underground scene in late 80's. They did couple of demos and in the 1989 finnish underground label Bad Vugum released 7-inch EP Senseless Extermination. In 1990 name was changed to Insomnia, for obvious reasons.
Insomnia EP was released in 1991. Band faded away but started again in the early 2000's with nod to their former and original name. So, they did change first letter and has been Wengele since then.
António Egas Moniz was a Portuguese neurologist and the developer of cerebral angiography. He is regarded as one of the founders of modern psychosurgery having developed the surgical procedure leucotomy—better known today as lobotomy
