I've been seeing this type of patch around here and there, and I'm wondering if they're some sort of vintage patch made in the 90s, or a more recent bootleg

Not vintage at all, those are lower quality bootlegs that were made in the last year or so. Quite common on eBay. I've never seen a vintage Atheist patch, oldest one I can think of is the Peace Of Time metalborse bootleg from 2010ish: https://tshirtslayer.com/patch/atheist-patch
