Hey guys,
i´m looking for some good Black Metal Bands. Would be great if you can give me some
fresh new bands that i can listen to.
There is enough nsbm out there and i dont want support that kind of sh*t.
Also i want your opinion on Forgotten Woods. I think its a very good band, but there questionable for me, because they
released their first records under the ,,No Colours Records´´ Label.
Couple off the top of my head right now - one is this band Hæthen, I think they are from Philadelphia, PA in the US... Pretty standard/traditional sounding but there's something about them that they don't sound like anyone else I can think of... This is their demo "wanderer" they also have a full length called "shaped by aeolian winds" that is very good
The other one I thought of is Ancestral Shadows from New Hampshire, USA.... very woodsy, melodic, atmospheric/depressive, pagan-influenced type stuff, seems real big on keeping a very old-school, '90s feel in their overall presentation. Pretty sure they aren't NS but they do cover a goatmoon song on their latest album so take that however you want I guess
Here's a link to the bandcamp page for the album, if you want to check them out http://ancestralshadows.bandcamp.com/album/the-sorrows-of-centuries-past...
Yes, absolutely. They also uphold the beacon of mysticism to their music as well. Orm and Kumulonimbus, while not as fastidious in releases as Swartadauþuz, bring forth something all their own in sound. It’s why I also appreciate Scythe of Death releases. They coalesce equally between the ability amongst the respective projects which brings a plethora of immense experiences when listening in. Also, a very worthy mention, are the Danish set of groups. The Danish Afgrundsvisioner; whom are deeply rooted and related to DGH-esque and Ancient Records ilk..(Sir. N faction) such as Múspellzheimr, Aiwigaz, Undergangaz, Hedengang and Grudom. Highly recommend them to you. Some of my favorite acts as of late.
Kumulonimbus also has Tomhet alongside Wulkanaz, and Orm - Myling, (Wod as you mentioned) and Domgård. Ormgård is numinous live. Really wish I had a chance to attend the series of Arosian Black Mass rituals in the early 2010’s.

Lots of Ancient Records stuff here - what are your thoughts on other DGH inspired bands like Wod?
