Question about cleaning leather

I used Scotch mounting spray to keep a patch on my leather jacket and when I took the patch off a few months ago it left a white residue that will NOT come off. How can I lift it without damaging the leather? I've tried Windex, Shout, and rubbing alcohol.

Lighter fluid? Will dry the shit out of the leather though probably

Toothpaste can work if yuo work hard on it. Can also remove the black dye, so be careful.
