I need some advice, I have never painted Leather or anything before and I wanna paint my leather jacket (Just simple things like band logos) And I don't really know where to start at, so yea can anyone help me out? I know that I have to use a stencil to make it look good, but I'm not exacly sure how I would keep it in the tight spot and some letters have holes in them and I don't really know haha. So if you have any advice, tips, cheap paint, anything you can help or recommend for me that would be great!

varnish is better for preserving the image ;)

I used stencils and spray paint on mine, it worked pretty fucking well. I also used acrylic paint on the bottom.. I prefer how the spray paint turned out. I later covered the spray paint with black again when i got sick of it, and you really can't even tell that it was painted at all

Heres my tip for stencils: use tape as the stencil material! Just take masking tape - it cuts like paper, and doesn't stick very strong. If you can, get the wide masking tape. Then lay down the strips of tape on a cutting board, always a bit overlapping, a few layers thick. You can cut out your stencil, then carefully peel it off the cutting board and stick it on the jacket. that way it won't move on the jacket. if there are holes in letters, make a cut-out from the tape for the hole as well, and simply stick it on the jacket as well. then paint over it, and once the paint is almost dry, peel off the tape again. But PLEASE make sure to use masking tape, because other tape like duct tape will leave glue residue on the leather :) hope this helps!
