At the end of the day there will always be scammers so no matter how many warnings / pop ups you have people & people will see the "no positive reviews" but not worry because their after a particular item that means a lot to them and they want it!!!
Had a thought of something like a pop up screen where must submit either a tracking number or phone number but would be hard to script them I guess.
There is so many different post offices worldwide so linking it to all the sites confirming its a legit number is hard and same with the phone number you'd have no way of confirming its legit because the phone company wouldn't provide you details because your not the "contract" holder. So my idea is flawed as fuck...haha, But something a long them lines of making you confirm something somehow would be cool.
Or possibly something like if your new to the site make it stricter and have a period that you cannot purchase or trade, Perhaps part of sign up if you state your reason for joining "To buy and sell" you provide your phone number and agree to only send via registered / tracked mail.
