Ebay is a minefield of foreign junk dumpers nowadays, be very careful with anything you buy. You can filter results for used items only, it tends to weed the obvious fraud out but still be careful and when in doubt ask for more information/pics
all this shirts, different backgrounds etc...and Sri Lanka?...well....i expect nothing else then a bootleg. but for this price - i dont care..haha...a cheap shot for something to cut off the sleeves for the summer etc....
I've seen my pictures with my ugly ass bed sheets as a background. I almost feel like buying a shirt just to leave negative feedback/review. There's several different sellers using my pictures. All from New York, Sri Lanka.
I forgot to answer your question. Apologies. I've tried reporting the seller a few times. Every time I get an error message. Not just from my phone, my laptop too. Even my work computer hits the same dead end. You can try reporting the seller, because what they're doing is a violation of ebay policy. Hopefully you'll have better luck.
I've reported a few of my shirts that popped up in these auctions. One seller got shut down, a couple of new ones popped up...
I'm curious if the Tshirtslayer watermark is present, should one splurge the $16 bucks for a shirt. Not really wanting to support this kind of bootlegging though.
For every one of my images i've reported, 5 more appear within a day. Ultimately don't think eBay cares/most of the reports are only scanned by AI. The spamming volume of these types of sellers has made searching for things on eBay very annoying of late.
I don't think you'll get anything if you buy - though I struggle to find how the scam works with paypal protection etc. A year or so ago I used a seller account with 400+ feedback to sell an item. I hadn't used the account for over 6 months, so although I sent the goods with the highest level tracking, eBay didn't release the funds for a whole month after they arrived ...in case the buyer wasn't happy!
You could probably put this guy out of business by buying a shirt and filing a 'not as described' claim. Be interesting to see if they're trying to copy the shirts, or as I suspect, thinking they can cut and run...
The best way but occasionally u get the.one.sho.figues that shit out and he sells.u a.bootleg that's used.warn and.cant tell by pic until u get it I bought a spiritual healing shirt paid like 125 bucks for.it.got it in the mail then triedn return it the account had been locked.ot something I nevermhot.my.money back and fought ebay forever I gave up Gave it.to my 10 year old.daughter who uses it at her moms.house as a sleep shirt when she misses her daddy so.it.was worth every penny.to.me.
If you read his terms and conditions at the bottom of each page, he admits he is producing them, and you can choose the colour and size required. Ebay took down a genuine Bolt Thrower patch i listed recently as it was reported as being in violation of artists intellectual rights, yet obvious bootleggers like this just scam and get away with it.
You are absolutely right mate... but in the case of BOLT (copyright) THROWER (they should rename themselves to Copyright Thrower by the way) this got to do with their law agency, who are specialised in destroying all stuff that people offer on Ebay and other portals... which might be only to 0,1% not for their benefit. They even raided a record fair here in Germany (Hamburg) many many years ago after their concerts... when they found one of their fuckin' Records (a bootleg) there on this fair after leaving the location.... police was called by BT.... Do I need to say more ? BT are the biggest sh*t band on this planet when it comes to abusing their fans as cash cows. I don't buy anything from them after this insane incident. And like You said: they even remove legal stuff from Ebay - no mattter what. They block certain keywords and use AI. As long as the fans pay their shit on their sites it'S ok. Total Shitheads!!!
I saw them on tour and they were selling shirts for 7 (SEVEN) euro. I go to crust shows in squats and even those bands charge more for their merch.
I went to the Boltfest in London. Paid like 5 pounds to see Bolt thrower, Autopsy, Discharge,... and they proceeded to donate the profits to a charity.
They often lowered their own fee in return for organisers to keep ticket prices low. Refused the big bucks Wacken wanted to throw at them playing small DIY festivals instead.
And you talk about them only wanting to sell via their sites? Then show me, where can you buy this overpriced Bolt thrower merch? Nowhere, because they've never sold it online. The only thing available are some expensive vinyl represses and the only reason they're out there is because Earache has the rights and the band can't stop them.
So yeah, Bolt thrower is a band that wants to have full control over their artistic legacy. But not because they're after the money, because otherwise they would have been selling Bolt thrower coffee mugs, car number plates and fridge magnets for years through some webshop. But they don't.
But still they get some shithead on the internet crying about them seeing fans only as a cash cow? It's a strange world...
First of all I did not talk to YOU - and if You call me a "shithead" I will call You "subhuman piece of scum" - to make justíce here straight at the beginning, understand ?! :-) If You are a fanboy of them, it's not my problem! Secondly: What You are talking here, got nothing to do with the fact that they called police for 1 fuckin' bootleg that was sold on a fair by seller, who didn't even know it's a boot !! Do You think that's justified in any way ??? If You think so - You are NOT in any way a person I want to talk to more here - end of message!!!! Cause then You are nothing more but a sheep and a lame fanboy, who didn't understand the meaning of Metal and Metal Culture, through which bands like BT got famous (fanzines, Bootlegs etc.). PS: They invested more money into the most expensive law agency than into their productions... should make You wonder!! The whole charity thing is cool for them as they do not need to pay taxes. Go get a life and study the arts of economics... then You are on the same level to talk about such things!!
Your claim that they've never sold their merch online is factually untrue, they have done that at least once, somewhere in late 2017 if I recall correctly. Granted, it was the shirts they already had printed for the Australian tour that never happened due to Kiddie's passing, but still. They had made a BigCartel (or similar) store and payment was directly to one of the members' paypal. I bought a shirt back then, it was priced about similar as any other band's merch. Definitely not expensive but not notably cheap either.
Not trying to invalidate any of your other arguments, just pointing out this one incorrect claim.
You're absolutely right - and this is only one example. For example a much more "recent" merch move : they were selling their BT Fan Club shirts on big cartel for a decent price.... absolutely no cheapo and no "samaritan move" here :-)) There are countless of other examples - also when it comes to patches.... they are more dedicated to licensing their stuff than Coca Cola - but hey "it's cult Death Metal" - haha f*ck them! :) To the BT fanboy from Belgium: How do You think they can afford the most expensive UK law agency (google it if You do not believe me!) when they are not using their fans as cash cows by putting high license fees on any kind of shit - even only the logo ?! I will upload one of these FC shirts soon here and have it for sale as I want to get rid off it (was a present by a friend, whose intention was good... but as mentioned before I despise their business politics and also their political correctness bullshit to the max - does not belong to Metal!) :-) Usually I do not sell presents, but the friend who gave this to me also sold all of his BT stuff in the meantime as he got the same attitude like me and is totally okay with it. For him "they sold their soul for law and not-roll", too. Cheers!
In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king. Your friend bought some bootlegs on a bigcartel website and you think the band was behind it, your 'facts' that support your narrative are flawed.
Thanks for the concern by the way, but you don't have to worry about my knowledge on economics. The university degree I have on the subject landed me a pretty fine job.
I'll be sure to wear a Bolt thrower shirt next time I visit a gig at Turock or Helvete! Cheers!
.... and in the land of rape and honey, the rats follow their blind leader... :)
Sorry, but the conversation with You reminds me a lot of talking to a bitter and desperate Antifa, who only wants to protect his "idols" or in their case "ideology" at any cost - therefore it's useless to continue here as You do everything for Your band idols - regardless of the facts. Maybe You should apply at BT to do their legal stuff and earn more money - even if You have such a "good job" :-) I heard that Jo Bench pays her attorneys very well to live on her "musical legacy" ^^
They should really give her an award for being the best bass player on this planet lol So much "talent" that even Cliff would say: whaooo - You got it Jo !!!
But seriously: You are just framing and abusing irrelevant narratives here, which really sucks.
It's nice that You flex with Your university degree - Maybe You know the slogan: people, who have really reached something in their life, always stay calm about their jobs, success and income ;-) The cool people don't need that "Flex" - but maybe therefore You are such a supporter of BT - as they got the same attitude now....
Anyway : invite me to a beer at Helvete if You are a tattooed millionaire and we can continue our "talk" there :-)
It's absolutely pointless and useless to continue a sophisticaed discussion with You as You did not reply to any of the FACTS of me and Stronthor in any way. Therefore this conversation is over for me - even if I like disputes... but You are not an adequate opponent - sorry :-)
By the way:
I still have my Warmaster Tour Poster here in one of our label rooms as I promoted them back in time when they were cool (was part of a well-known agency for DM in the 90s, but won't mention the name -> see my attitude towards flexing with stuff above *g*). But I am not that blind to see that they changed their "character" (especially Jo Bench) when they quit with BT... now it's only all about the money - and they give a damn fuck about the people that once promoted them. You can wear whatever You want - I don'T give a F**ck ^^ "it's a free country mate - and You got freedom of speech" (bang bang)
Cheers & Prost - from Fukken Uber Germany ^^
P.S. I will wear my original SLAYER "Hanging Boy" Shirt at Helvete ;-)
