Too many patches of the same band for my taste. And the front, it just looks like a mess. Not too crazy about all those shaped patches either, looks like the kind you get at local fairs for 1$ a piece.

Wish we had local fairs where we could get them for the price you mentioned - as for the rest of your comment - each person has his personal taste, you are entiteled to your opinions - we are entiteled to ours - by the way - I happen to be a jewellery designer - wonder what criticism about my works you will have when I'll upload some pics later :)

Sounds neat to me. Wish I had the patience to make something like that myself. ^^

I think there's some wild stuff on there, but some stuff I don't like; (mainly my nitpick is at stuff like black label society & the anarchy patch...anarchy patches bug me as it's a pointless thing to advertise and just creates issues :s)
but tastes aside, the spacing and patches are just placed kind of oddly, there's so many in the same shape, it might prove worth while for him to save a few and make space for other shaped patches? ~ that way the final result will come out a bit cleaner and then some extra patches will be available for another project or to re-sew in a different way, but overall a pretty good effort.--The Motorhead worship is nice, but perhaps better suited to a Motorhead tribute vest haha, OR I dunno......Motorhead, Saxon, Priest...guess it all adds up to a British Invasion

Does he like stuff like Raven, Wolf, Venom or Grim Reaper?

The circular and stripe patches were chosen on purpose to create something different from the usual type of 'square patches front' - thank you for your kind advice - but we are happy with the result - bottom line is that the wearer is the one to decide if he likes or dislikes what he put together.
When we work on a battlejacket here we face a huge problem as there is no shop in Israel that sells metal patches - we have to order from e-bay and quite a few sellers won't ship to Israel (lately it became even worse - quite a lot of cases where the money was paid and the patches were not sent - using politics to justify plain and simple theft).
So to put together enough patches for a project takes ages, add to that the fact that sometimes we can spend hours looking for a certain patch and the end result is frustration at having to compromise and buy "the nearest" to what we wanted...
As of now I am still hunting for patches to finish his battlejacket and my battlejacket - pretty crazy - back in the 1980's I could practically get in Israel all the patches for a new project in less than 2 months. Again - we are pretty happy with the end result and this project is not finished yet. :)
