it's actualy the other way around, santa claus is a coca cola adaptation of the st. nicolaas. I actualy saw some footage a couple ofdays ago (5 december is st. nicolaas (sinterklaas)birthday) of sinterklaas in the US, it was very funny because they had him talking Dutch and then one of his helpers (called piet) said to he had to talk english.. very funny.. and abit weird.
