To each his own. I seen the trailer (I know I shouldn't judge a movie solely by it's trailer) but after that I just didn't wanna see it. A bunch of hipsters in a cabin with the necronomicon and they label it "evil dead"
Had a good laugh at the trailer tho.. whereas the possessed Cheryl (the girl that gets locked in the cellar) in the original movie actually looks like she's been rotting in there, the 'new' cheryl looks like a heroine junkie with some menstrual blood on her face lol. it's the little things like this that made Evil Dead one of my favorite movies of all time, and a re-make without the chainsaw-weilding boomstick-blastin' Ash as main character (I know it wasn't until part 2 where he became bad-ass, but whatever) is just pure blasphemy in my eyes. Seeing everyone talk positively about the new Evil Dead, makes me think I'm the only one with this opinion tho.
That's just my two cents. Didn't mean to put you down and I had no intention ruining the movie for you. I might consider seeing it, just to know what I'm talking about, but I'm pretty sure I'd stop it on the first half hour and cry myself to sleep over what they've done to Evil Dead. After all I'm glad all people have different opinions and I hope you have a good time at the movies!
