Rubicon - Rubicon
Sat, 21/11/2015 - 23:59Before starting melodic hard rockers Night Ranger in the 80s, Jack Blades and Brad Gillis played a funkier brand of hard rock inspired by Mk III Deep Purple with Rubicon. The band was lead by original Sly and the Family Stone member, Jerry Martini. While not "metal", it's definitely an interesting listen and serves as a "before they were famous" for the guys in Night Ranger.

Haha yep this is definitely a rarity! Hard to believe the funk rock thing was a trend back in the 70s (Wild Cherry, Tower of Power, Hot Chocolate, these guys) considering it seems a bit of a novelty today, or at least to me haha. We have Glenn Hughes to blame for this hahahaha!
