Koldbrann's brand-spanking-new album on double LP. It comes limited to 250 hand-numbered copies of each color, the red (this one), and the regular black.
This is one of my favorite bands so this was a mandatory pick up. However, I have to say... very disappointed with what they chose for the artwork. Seriously, how boring is that cover? Oh well, still a great album.
Hahaha... I remember someone on YouTube mentioning that the band's name sounded like a cereal's name :/
That must be the yummiest cereal EVVAAAHH!! Gangrene oats and roasted maggots... mmmmhm. ;)

Just looked up the band. Nice Norwegian BM.

Indeed it is. I would most recommend their first album. My two personal favorite songs from that one are not on YouTube, but if you can look it up online somewhere... check out the songs "Korpus Sepsis" and "Phlegetons Bredder". Mannevond has some of the greatest black metal vocals I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. It's like a beastly growl with no give whatsoever.
You really can't go wrong with the first album, but those are my two personal favorites.

I will try to find it. And otherwise I just gotta buy the album :P

Haven't had a chance to check the new album out. How does it compare to the band's previous releases? I have to say, I was really turned off by the artwork on this one.

I definitely agree, the artwork is just hideous. I don't know what they were thinking. It's ugly, and boring. Totally lack-luster.
As for the music itself... it's fantastic! Of course you have to eventually judge for yourself, but I personally love it. I would say it's still not as good as "Nekrotisk..." (I don't think they will ever make another album that awesome again) but just as good as Moribund, in my opinion.
It's also really long, just like the previous two albums.

When I first saw the album cover, I was afraid they might have gone for a change their musical style. Artwork and logo have a really polished, mainstream look to them. Glad to hear that the music is just as good as ever, though. I'll have to pick this up soon.

I felt the same way, but I looked it up quickly and I saw that there was no real big change in musical direction. I don't know if you have seen it, but they made a video for one of the songs:

I'm not really one to enjoy most black metal videos, but this one is pretty good. It feels more like a jam session than a music video. It has guest vocals from Erlend Hjelvik from Kvelertak, he does them along with Mannevond at around the middle of the track.

Good to hear it is good, i'm in the same boat as RJ.
That being said, at least the LPs themselves look decent enough to make up for the lameness of the artwork haha.
5 flames for you man!

Thanks man, but I honestly don't think anything makes up for the terrible artwork. I mean the music is awesome, but visually the only cool "artwork" on the record is the open gatefold (the band picture). That's pretty much about it for me.
Ehhh...
I got two old Koldbrann shirts on the way as well, so I'm pretty excited about those. You could say I'm on another one of my Koldbrann highs, hehe. One of them is a white tour shirt, from a tour they did with Endstille in 2004. I think it's called the Anti-trigger tour 2004. It's got the same funny message on the back that they had on one of their previous albums (I can't remember which one). All I know is, they hate drum triggers :D

No wonder you're exited man, that sounds pretty cool, i'd love to see them!

I'll upload them as soon as they get here, no worries!

They actually pretented hating triggers mostly because it was Fordervelse's decision (the past drummer), which is the right one imo.
I'm kinda disappointed by the new album mostly because the new drummer is using triggers as hell. I just can't get into it, it sounds so clicky!
