I don't mind kids. Hell, I'm gonna try to get my kid(s) into metal. But when they're this young, it's just kind of overkill (no pun intended). I mean, can you honestly say that this child can understand what all these bands stand for? All their political, philosophical, religious, and so on; beliefs? This is just as disappointing as those moms who push their 6 year old daughter's to dress up like hookers, just to join beauty contests. No matter what is being forced upon the youth, may it be ugly like right-hand path religions, or something beautiful like metal; it's wrong. Beyond that, I can't really say much more as it would get me banned. Ergo the little note ontop of the comment box
I'd have to say I sort of agree with you but this kid looks like hes into it and hes having fun not like he was being forced into something and as far as understanding religious and political beliefs I don't think it matters I listen to everything even NS stuff as long as I think it sounds good it's good don't matter what they stand for
It seems as though hes having fun. Having fun and listening to metal dont mean he's being forced, he's at shows with his family, if he gets older and doesnt like metal anymore thats a different story, and not one that can be determined by these pics, but for now he seems to be in the right place. You can be young and still enjoy metal for the music and energy, thats why we all listen to metal in the first place!
How can you expect a child that young to make any meaningful life decisions? You could also argue that dressing your kids in Sesame Street clothes is forcing something upon them. The parents are into metal, so hell, why not let them dress their kid like a metalhead? I would say that it wouldn't make sense for a family into metal to dress him any other way.
No matter what, children are going to have to rely on their parents for the first years of their lives to make certain decisions for them. I'm sure if the kid grows up and decides to listen to punk or something else, the parents would still support their child. Since the dawn of time, parents have raised their kids in the hopes that they will grow up with their beliefs and interests. How is this any different?
I get what your saying but i doubt they're forcing the kids to like it. They look like they're having a great time. metal is a culture and like every culture you pass it down to your kids. I have a friend who was born into the culture and hes very greatfull for it. sometimes i wish i was born into it.
Kids are generally happy though. That's what comes with the ignorance of being new to this world. I can assure you no six year old can even BEGIN to grasp almost any typical metal 'topic' though. He likes it because it's what he's grown up with. But really, don't throw your kid in the deep end of the pool with all those extreme metal bands. Start things out slowly like with Metallica, Anthrax, Judas Priest, etc. Like how that one Australian guy with the kid did it.
very good point. i thought u ment not to bring them into any metal at first. but ya i agree not to show them extreme metal till they're older. my friend's dad did the same thing. he raised him in the metal culture but he didn't show him extreme metal till he was older.
