11 is a number of chaos. Can't really tell you why, since I'm no expert on this subject. And the Giants are in some instances beings of chaos in norse mythology. The runes on the cover is called "Thurs/Thurisas" and is a symbol of the giants(among other things, but is generally a symbol of evil forces)
There is eleven of them on the cover, so there is Eleven Giants.
Or "Elva Thurs" in Swedish.
