Damn right it's a classic! This was the second album (after LA Woman by the Doors) I ever got on vinyl. This was in the 90's when no one at my school gave a shit about vinyl. It was only 10 cents at a yard sale and I wore this baby out!
Let me be who I am.....Let me kick out the jams!! -MC5

By far one of their best!
Original vocalist Rod Evans doesn't get nearly enough credit as he deserves for his work weather it be from "Shades of Deep Purple, "Book of Talieysn" or "Deep Purple" and even his work with Captain Beyond's pretty stellar. A pure classic for sure.

A total all star classic. This album is very good!. And Yes the vocals do need more recognition. I really look into this album alot. Especially the Jimi Hendrix cover "Hey Joe".

Agreed (both of you). I love this album, and this era of the band. Check out CAPTAIN BEYOND for what Rod Evans was up to after he left Purple...

I haven't even heard this album but 5 flames for Deep Purple. Eventually I'll have every Deep Purple album...
