Seen a few examples online of people cutting patches into shape patches. I have alot of weird bordered patches id be down for using if they were just shaped. Any special way I could recreate this or should I be fine going at one with an xacto knife? Image was taken from instagram, assuming it was cut out from this. https://tshirtslayer.com/patch/eyehategod-take-needed-pain-strip-patch

Some folks have suggested a soldering iron, I went about mine with precise sewing scissors to get the border/large empty spaces off, and a hot needle to do precise shaping. I swear someone explained it better in another thread but I can't find it๐๐
For that you'll need: a candle/lighter, wine cork and spare sewing needle. Jab the needle through the cork so it points out at an angle you can easily maneuver, like a pencil. Then open a window/turn on a fan (patch fumes aren't healthy), heat the needle up for at least 10 seconds, then CAREFULLY maneuver it around your patch to slice off the areas you want to remove. I left a couple millimetres for sewing space, but you can trim it later if needed
If you go too quick you can damage the good parts of the patch, or jab yourself with a boiling hot needle, both of which are bad. If it gets too hard to maneuver, just re-heat and keep at it, don't rush with this stuff. If you're using an older/used patch that's softened up, I'd recommend adding an iron-on backing before all this, just so the end product is easier to sew, hope this helps, best of luck to ya๐๐ค๐ค
