Best way to attach chains to a vest?

Bredli

I was wondering what the best methods of attaching chains to vests are. I’ve attached small keyrings to each end of the chain and I was thinking of maybe hooking the rings through the fabric of the vest? Or should I just sew the chain directly on?
I’ve also seen some people using rivets and stuff but that’s not an option for me currently.
Any help is appreciated :)

I personaly use metal half rings (D- rings) and a piece of fabric to connect the whole construction together. Then I attached the chain to sewn D-ring.

My result looks like this. Hope it helps.

Depends on how you want the chain to look, and the thickness of it, you could have something like what Xena has posted (Awesome vest btw), or something like the chains on The Beast's vest (https://tshirtslayer.com/battle-jacket/possessed-beast).

If you're doing what Xena is doing, follow their instructions, if its a thinner chain that you're using to border a patch/seam, then just sew it on every couple of links or so, I have done this on my vest around the Toxic Holocaust backshape and it has held up really well.
