added a fiew more studs, modified the shoulders fit and squuzed in a little Discharge.
got it signed by members of Abigail and Manilla Road at Fall of Summer.
Just perfect! Really impressive studwork, man! Did you alter the fabric? It doesn't look like simple jeans fabric to me, that's why I ask! (Thought it was a leather vest, till I saw the front^^ But I think it works nicely with that kind of paled colour of the Skaven BP!
i altered soo much about this jacket. it was indeed my goal to kinda give it a leather vest vibe. painted it black with various paints untill i got this nice shiny effect. also added that seam on the bottom of the back like leather jackets often have. (and much more)
the Skaven patch was still black last time i posted pics.. the sun hasn't been holding back on it. it will probably end like the Noothgrush patch on my pants since its the same fabric.
Congrats, it really has that leather vibe! What colour's did you use? I once used acrylic spraypaint on jeans fabric and it became stiff as fuck. Checked Skaven out btw, really kicks ass, one of the sickest vocals, really made an impression!
i furst used screenprint ink like i did on my other jacket, but a diffrent ink this time wich had a matte finish so i went over the parts wich i wasnt going to stud with a layer of acryic paint. (but wach out, some acrylic paints crack). it does get stiff, my other jacket i got into a moshpit and it came out soft as a baby's butt. this one i just threw in a dryer with some tennis balls. for 10 minutes and it was fine.
and yeah, those vocals are soo sick. i once showed them to my friend and he told me the music was allright, but the vocalist sucked, he coulnt even grunt. (i have to add he only listens to like melodic death metal and such) i had to explain to him that he wasnt even trying to.. and that theres more vocal techniques than just singing and grunting.
Thanks for sharing your secrets! I might try it some time, I think the idea of jeans fabric with that leather finish is a damn good! Haha, obviously the most organic way to make it soft is a good ol' moshpit! :D Blood, sweat and tears, doesn't get better than that!
Totally, the longer I've been listening to music like that, the more I appreciate that unique, kinda "throaty" screams, like he does from Skaven! I really like that hardcore influenced shouting, with a little voice left in there. The deeper some try to growl or grunt the more it all sounds the same.^^
Extremely well done like all of your work! I have a question, did you cut past the seam of the armpits? And if yes, doesn't this shorten the lifespan of the jacket significant? Been hesitant to do this myself.
yeah i did, and it probably shortens the lifespan (so do studs so i really dont worry about that much anymore), but dont think its that much. thing is it becomes more prone to ripping, i covered the edges with scraps of denim to stop it from fraying and strengthen it a little.
in general i am quite confident i can fix most damagees that can happen to my jackets, so i dont worry a bout their lifespan anyway.

The backpatch looks cool, where did that corrupted patch come from?
