Reverend Bizarre Pure Doom Snob Jacket update

Admittedly I got a little hasty with the placement on the first post of this one. Not finished yet, but I got it ready enough to wear out. I still have a few more patches waiting to put on and looking for more. But with a white jacket, everything pops right out, so I feel I have to be very careful about placement for balance reasons.

Great update! The candlemass bp works pretty good on this jacket.. May I ask where you got the Trouble patch from? Cheers man!!

Many thanks!! I was pleased with how I was able to place the BP. Going straight up and down with it just didn't look right to me.

jeg86 sold me the Trouble and Candlemass strip here on tshirtslayer!

I have a similar version of this backpatch so I know the struggle of trying to place it in the right angle.. I ended it up not using it at all since it just didn't work with my jacket.. But on yours it just fits right! And tbh for a doom snob jacket there really isn't another choice than this backpatch am I right?

And thanks for the information.. I have a similar Trouble patch too haha but it just won't really fit anywhere since it's a shape..

My thoughts exactly! I wanted one that showed a lot of detail of that graphic, but I didn't want a traditional printed BP. Bummer that yours didn't work out!

Realmy cool! But why three of the same RB patch?

The idea is to show elitism. I'm trying to have every band on there at least twice- there unfortunately isn't a huge selection of RB patches, and these ones were easy to place. I realize that repeating patches puts off most people, and usually I don't do it- I like the symmetry it provides here though. Thanks for the flames!!!

Huh! I really like it actually, just thought it was kinda weird.

I believe I've asked before, but I still don't understand multiple patches of the same band shows elitism. There's a lot more obscure and killer bands that would be as much "elitist approved". Most of the time when someone places multiple patches of the same band it shows that they don't know that many bands in the first place.

Still, the mirrored Reverend Bizarre patches on the chest look good there at least. I'd move the WFG patch to under the other one on the sleeve.

Thanks, I appreciate the comment! I reeeally thought about putting that one there actually.

I feel like going the obscure band elitist route is more effective for Death & Black metal. For this one, I'll just stick with tried and true, recognizable, classic bands, accepting no substitutes. "Sorry, your band won't make it on my jacket because you're not fucking Candlemass" so to speak.

Well there's definitely more than 4 doom bands that fit that description. Pentagram, Cathedral, and especially St Vitus are obvious shouts.

Pentagram, too 70s proto, too bluesy rock n roll. Vitus is a maybe, they're a bit on the stoner side, but I do think one of each old & new logo would look nice if I found the right patches. I'm sure Cathedral will end up on here at some point!

Thanks man!

Pentagram is the definition of doom metal. Starting with the death row era line up that is.

Yeah, I'd say there are many songs and great moments on their first 3 full lengths that are essential Doom Metal.

I feel like Bobby couldn't escape his influence of 60s and 70s hard rock vocalists in the end, on those 3 albums they often had to do songs leaning more toward rock than metal. I would put the 90s Hasselvander albums firmly on the doom side to be sure though. After Be Forewarned, Pentagram basically just consisted of whoever happened to be chill with Bobby at the moment and not a super solid creative lineup. Considering all these things, I felt fine excluding them from this jacket.

That's not bashing their music at all, Pentagram is one of my favorite bands, despite Bobby Liebling being a deceptive, freeloading crackhead.

Well said my friend couldn’t put it any better
