Very much agree here.

Well technically you could call it unblack metal but musically they're the same.
mayor_of_tromaville on
why not just call it christian metal because that's what it is. .. black metal is anti-christian and filled with satanic imagery and lyrics.. nothing christian could ever be any thing close to being black metal and to call it "unblack metal" would be sort of making a mockery of both your religion and black metal music in my opinion..
as far as the Jacket I think it is intriguing to see some one that is so open to display things about themselves that would normally make them against what most metal is about (violence, drinking, drugs, sex, and anti-religion) yet they are still into the culture and music. because in the end it really is all about the music and how it makes you personally feel. a straight edge christian metalhead is still kinda odd to me though haha too each their own.
I don't know of any one Black Metal fan that would identify Christianity as being in line with the ideological tenets of the genre.

I really appreciate your comment. I agree. The term "unblack metal" doesn't really make any sense. I will change it to Christian metal. Thanks for appreciating my jacket for what it means to me rather than bashing it because you don't agree with the band's ideologies. It is truly about the music. Individuals have the right to worship whoever or whatever they want. They have the right to do whatever they want to their bodies as well. To me musical taste is also a right which does not have to be constituted by individuals actions or looks etc. Yes I know that most metal talks about how the band lives and feels and that can influence people but ultimately people are shaped by many factors and not just metal alone.
mayor_of_tromaville on
Exactly! Shit, I used to be very religious when I was younger, and have since studied a bit about tons of religions and was for a brief while a practicing LaVeyan Satanist (it's a bunch of hog wash and non-sense, mainly just anti-christianity and random philosophy thrown together more so than an actual religion in my eyes) and I still listen to a couple christian bands (even a few non-metal ones), and a bunch of straight edge bands even though I have never followed that lifestyle either, haha I listen to some NSBM and hate metal, but I'm not a nazi nor do I support the radical white power movement. So, I totally know exactly where you are coming from.
Also those guys that commented below are totally right, I can get behind any thing that works people up this much, especially when it gets people that are almost never offended or go out of their way to be offensive all fired up haha .. because to me that is what rock/metal is all about, doing what you want even if it's gonna get people all pissy.

Those are great examples. Thanks man. Ya I feel like a rebel on both sides at times haha.
PForx on
No. Nope nope nope nope. It is not Black Metal. Also, the patches and studs are a mess.
Xenaus on
wut.
gizter on
straight edge?
JesusLovesCakeFart on
Ew. Unblack metal ist nicht krieg.
quixotic on
Maybe the flag of Amsterdam underneath the cross?
Zango on
My thoughts exactly.
Ragnor on
I'm not going to comment on the beliefs/bands, as my tastes are literally the exact opposite. Layout wise, I like how painting on the back of a leather jacket looks, but the front has too many patches, in my opinion. Maybe move a few to the arms.
xDreadChampionx on
Thanks for the input man. I'll consider doing that.
joecubbie
I'll give you 3 for the straightedge dude but as a Christian myself, I really don't care for any of the "Christian Metal" bands. Sorry. The only Christian band I even care for is Kansas and that's because 1. They rock. and 2. They wrote "Carry on Wayward Son". And yeah, having a "Christian Metal" jacket with As I Lay Dying n no Kansas, the first Christian Rock band? Nuh uh, not gonna fly lol.
xDreadChampionx on
Oh that's cool. Well I'm only putting metal bands on this jacket so that's why I don't have them.
joecubbie
I see where you're coming from. Kansas was always hard rock and bordered on metal at points but yeah, OK.
xDreadChampionx on
Ya they're a great band! I don't know anyone who hasn't heard of them.
joecubbie
Lol definitely
Mortification?
xDreadChampionx on
Yes I love them. I am looking for a patch of theirs.
If you're gonna listen to christian music you can at least listen to the good bands like motification instead of as i lay dying.
Also check out Ultimatum, if you havent already.
joecubbie
Didn't the AILD dude try to kill his wife?
Think so. He's still way higher than a fucking pedophile in my eyes though.
xDreadChampionx on
Thanks I will check out Ultimatum!
Ya that's what the news says. I chose to put this patch on to commemorate their last album before all of the controversy took place. It's all very unfortunate.
Knightwhosayni on
Well, Kansas was not a Christian band when they wrote "Carry On Wayward Son". Their career as a so-called Christian rock band started when Livgren and Hope became born-again in '80 with Audio-Visions, which has overtly Christian lyrics and caused the split of the original line-up for obvious ideological reasons. Which leaves the first and I dare to say most interesting part of their career as a secular band. So chronologically speaking, Kansas is not the first (and certainly not the most consistent) Christian hard rock/metal band. Anyway, I always thought the first were Agape and Resurrection Band in the very early 70s?

Bombenhagel on
hmm ok straight edge is also represent in black ("unblack") metal didn´t know that.
And you are straight edge or what ?
xDreadChampionx on
Yes I am. I also listen to hardcore which is where I found out about Straght Edge.
Judas Priestess on
Not my type of music but I respect that it's your tastes on your jacket.
xDreadChampionx on
Thanks I appreciate it!
ozku18 on
The design of the jacket itself isnt that good for a battlejacket IMO, but i like what you have done with it. You have no idea how much id like to start bashing and rambling about christian metal, but i have to agree, it would be way more retarded to listen to "real" black metal just because other kids think that its cooler. Cheers!
xDreadChampionx on
Thanks for the honesty and 4 flames mate. Do you mean that it isn't a good jacket because it isn't a biker style one?
ozku18 on
Nope, i actually dislike biker styled jackets. Its just that the leather on your jacket looks so... soft, and the bottom of the jacket has that "rubber band" look. But as i said, you managed to pull it off.
xDreadChampionx on
Oh ok got you. Ya that's true haha. Thanks
BadWaffle1069 on
Fucking love it mate, looks badass. Stay metal my christian brother \m/
