You wait 45 years for one Sid Vicious swastika t-shirt then two turn up at the same time. Have you seen that the original version of this shirt is being sold on this site too?
Into Glory Ride on
I suppose that was the Kickstart for this one to be uploaded.
the conjuror
Yep. I spoke with the guy in his comments section.
Into Glory Ride on
ah you were the one he asked to upload!
the conjuror
Yes. What a piece of history!! Punk was the start of my own personal musical journey. And being a very young kid I thought Sid was fantastic! As you can see from my other Sid t-shirts.
GhastlyDrain on
No. it's just a nazi flag lmao
fuzz wizard444 on
agreed

Edited.

Where can I get one? It's a Hindu holy symbol, dammit.
Valinskas on
did germans see that symbol or internet auto-censoring it? :D
Into Glory Ride on
Surprisingly enough we are not that far.
Yet.
AbysmalWind on
Hahaha this is gonna rustle some jimmies
sfusyron
I thought the same thing..
TERR0RIST on
Originally desingned by the Hindus but made popular by a young promising painter. Many say that Sid wasnt even a bassplayer, but he was a man of culture for sure.
Good shirt.
GhastlyDrain on
And this shit is still up with a big fucking swastika on it, but my Peste Noire shirt was deleted lmao

Well, i had my Stahlfront Logo patch deleted, the logo doesn't even include any NS-Symbols.

Doc blacklisted Peste Noire because apparently it attracted an unfavorable crowd that were being dicks on tss. paraphrasing however i cant find the comment again.
program_control on
It's because Nazis are way less annoying than Peste Noire fans.

Well, the cross is too bold, the original was slimmer. So in fact this is just a Reichsflag, not a reprint of the design Sid wore.
the conjuror
You don't say it's not a reprint!? It's more red instead of burgundy too. But it's the closest I could find. I never said it was a reprint. But I did buy it because of my earliest hero.
Holykaust on
I just thought that whoever made it tried to replicate the original, so i just was wondering. I would wear it once, because i'll probably wont get to wear it a second time outside.
Lloyd H on
ha, Ha - I am curious as to where would you wear the shirt for just that single time? Local Greggs?! Wetherspoons maybe? It'd be a ballsy - or foolhardy - decision regardless as the instant reaction you will get is going to be hard to counter. Could you even be arrested here in the UK for wearing it?
the conjuror
I've heard of people being asked to turn t-shirts inside out because of in your face profanity before, so yes; I'd hazard a guess you'd be apprehended for this shirt. Despite the obvious offense caused, not exactly a free society is it? Not that I've believed that for a very long time. The veil slipped years ago.
Lloyd H on
Just seen that you are in Germany - swiftly arrested yeah?
Holykaust on
I get beaten up first before getting arrested. I live in an area with lots of migrants and left-radicals. Paradise. Not all depictions of swastikas are banned here. Just the ones from the Reich.
the conjuror
I've got a German friend slightly younger than me and she's always quite shocked how openly the Nazi regime is discussed here in the UK. In education for instance. With open opinions. Not stigma.
Lloyd H on
I guess it doesn't hit so close to home here in the UK? Also, turn on any documentary channel here and there's constant Nazis/Hitler content so people both old and young are exposed to it without too much censorship. I'm over 50 so can remember avidly watching The World at War series growing up as a kid as well as watching comedy stuff like Dad's Army and Fawlty Towers that mocked the Nazis/Hitler.
the conjuror
Yeah bud. Likewise. My history exams also were heavily inclusive of Hitler's reign, not just the details of how the war played out. Ahh. Fawlty Towers. I bought that on dvd years ago. My wife had never watched it!!
Abgor on
imagine walking down the street with this shirt ahahaha
the conjuror
Yeah. That would be quite the thing!!
Dan on
I am not into the political bulshit discussions all the time either but for this shirt I just can not see the point.
Bands with dodgey imagery..Ok.I can kinda understand.but this is just beyond me.
To people who like it, good for you.To those who don't good for you too.I just don't understand.
Lloyd H on
Sid Vicious - because that's specifically who this t-shirt references - and any punks of that era who did likewise, wore a swastika just for 'shock value' and not as a political statement. 1977 was the height of punk rock and only 32 years after WW2 ended so just imagine how shocking and controversial it was to UK war veterans at that time. It was nihilistic, anti-establishment and the ultimate - admittedly in a pretty juvenile way - 'two fingers' to UK society. You'd see Hells Angels/bikers doing the same thing even earlier than 1977 with Swastika and Iron Cross badges.
Dan on
Yeah I get that.UK Culture was quite quirky, also with Skindheads starting as raggae fans etc.
That's in the same time frame isn't it ?
Didn't experience that personally because I was still liquid and nothing but a naughty thought (in other words not born yet) :)
Lloyd H on
Skinheads who listened to reggae exclusively were quite a bit earlier than the punk rock era, going as far back as the late 60s but it carried on into the punk era slightly. These reggae listening skins were the original skinheads and were inspired by black music/clothes/culture. Late 70s/early 80s UK skins were a slightly different breed and listened to proto-Oi!/Street Punk like Sham 69 and Cockney Rejects then later on full blooded Oi! like 4-Skins, The Business etc.

I don't think, that you got the context right, so this is not a reason to insult the owner of this shirt.

Man this is reich flag, this is not buddist symbol, this is not hindu symbol, this is swastika, about what context you say? This is not nsbm merch, I dont like it too, but I am understand that people here with different political idelogies and this is okay. But this is swastika, why I need to understand this, and posting it here it? Ýou can be right, left, not in politics, but this is too much.
Thiellus on
No one here is (convincingly) arguing against that notion. Yes it’s a Nazi Third Reich flag on a shirt. The context is that it’s a reproduction of the same shirt infamously worn by Sid Vicious. You are free to have an opinion on the shirt but others are just as free to call you out for having said opinion.
RAT COVENANT on
First of all, the symbol of the second reich, which is also known as the reich flag, is not the same as the swastika-symbol, which was used during the reign of the third reich. The reason why this shirt was posted here in the first place is, that this item is related to a certain figure from a band, because Sid Vicious was well-known for wearing a swastika-shirt for shock value. This shirt was never produced by the band themself, however it is still not political statement as you had assumed before and for this reason this shirt can be classified as a bootleg-item.
Snus_terrorist on
I think you admin yes? Okay brother, kick me from here if you want and think swastika is okay, I have no comments more...
RAT COVENANT on
I'm not the admin of this site, but if you have a problem with free expression in general, you can always leave this site on your own and go to your political circle jerk on a social media site of your choice.
the conjuror
Thank you sir.
the conjuror
I wouldn't and have never worn this shirt in public. I'm far from apologising to you, just setting you straight. I do like punk as it happens.
