dubtribe
Thanks ... was looking for this for a long time. Had the 1995 version already, but this one was always too expensive. Then one day -> the same happend as to you with your Cenotaph vinyl: a fair price :)
gloriousdeath
damn cool tape
dubtribe
Thanks ... looks way better than the 1995 version
gloriousdeath
yep... and i like the format... tape is the new vinyl.... now all hipsters jump on the vinyl trend.... the maniacs needs another unfashionable unstylish and out -dated item hahaha
dubtribe
Hahaha ... but i recently read that the vinyl trend could end very fast because the factories have big problems to get the wax ... so we will see what future brings ... and I'm glad my gf kept her old stereo ( it has a tape deck hehe )
gloriousdeath
really ??? maybe they should start collecting all those horrible 70's disco, 80's synth pop, rap, schlager etc etc records.... and melt them all into metal records.... the world would be a better place hahahaha
dubtribe
Hahaha good idea haha ... I hope it wasn't true what I have read. I'm not the biggest vinyl collector, but it's always nice to have some special records on vinyl :) ... have ordered the Schammasch one today ... had the CD and listend to it about 50 times - with every run the album is getting better & better, and that's a reason for me to buy the vinyl too :)
gloriousdeath
hope it's not true too.... there's wonderful records being made these days.... i think a lot of them will be collectors items in the future.... great packaging, splattered vinyls, picture discs, extra stuff like posters... they put a lot of effort in records these days i think
dubtribe
That's true ... think it is some kind of trend atm ( like you mentioned it - hipsters aso ... ). Don't know how far it will go, but I hope it will get back into "normal" dimensions again ... not like the way Nuclear Blast is releasing atm: 1 album/50colors
gloriousdeath
well, i think it's a bubble... record-companies had hard times... and try to cash in on this trend.... but i don't think today's buyers are real music fans ( i'm talking about mainstream, non metal consumers now) ... it's more a novelty thing.... a repress record of the Stones combines nice with their new furniture and that Andy Warhole poster on their wall... they like it; then suddenly there's another trend..... and all big manufacturers/ labels will be stuck with millions of records that won't get sold.... and that's mabye the real end of vinyl....hope i'm wrong....
dubtribe
You might be right, very good point of view mate ... I really would miss vinyl so I hope it won't end like this. Maybe the small labels will survive as they only produce a small amount of vinyls - for real fans & collectors.
I'm really curious how long this trend will be going on ... usually it's 1-2 years and then something new & different is coming up.
gloriousdeath
well, if this happens... it will be like early 90's again.... underground music ( be it metal, punk or whatever) will always be available on vinyl.... but it won't be as fancy as atm....
dubtribe
Haha that's the big problem ... the sound and the spaghettied tape ;)
gloriousdeath
sticky shed syndrome.... as a demotape collector my worst nightmare !!!!!!!!
dubtribe
Uhhh ... I once had this problem, gladly it just was a mix tape :)
gloriousdeath
well, of course there's a variety of tapes considering quality.... but yeah, it's def. not vinyl
