Any idea of the origin of it?

I'm not sure but i guess it was made in the UK from the 80s I have no idea who made those exactly. Better Badges? Red Moon or other suppliers? I bought mine at a canadian webstore tho. Teach me some please. You're a true old metal guy.

Ha - old I am indeed! I was a huge Venom fan when they first came out in the very early 80s - there was nobody else like them - but any kind of Venom merch was very hard to come by in those days so I am stumped with this badge. As I am sure you know they only played one UK gig before the 1985 tour I saw them on and this was due to their policy of only doing big shows. Loads of blinkered metal fans absolutely HATED Venom back then. Not just poseur/glam metal fans like you would expect but younger NWOBHM fans and older traditional metal fans too. If you were a fan of early days Venom they were like a cult that only you - and the few other people who understood - belonged to and to me that made them even cooler!

Thought surely you'd know the origin of this. Of course i'm sure you know those 1" vintage prismatic buttons too, Actually i used to have the same extra one of it before. I bought that one along with some prismatic Venom buttons and some of them had "Made In England" on the back so i guess it was. Anyways, Thanks for the short story about Venom. Ha, i could see why you're very proud of being one of the EARLY Venom fans! Could i ask why those people hated Venom back then? Because they were doing a pretty original things that most of people never got into or any reasons

Shiny prism effect badges that looked metallic I remember but wouldn't have bought many as a youth. Too shiny for me! I can remember mirror badges too. They were square and had one color - black - printed on a reflective surface. Didn't like those either. I had lots of cast metal and button badges though.

Ha - here's another short story for you! Venom were hated for the same reasons that people who don't listen to extreme metal will say today. "it's just noise not music", "that's not proper singing" etc. The satanic stuff also used to annoy/wind up people who wanted metal to be taken seriously. It was mostly metal fans who were saying all this negative stuff too. Kerrang! magazine - when it was more metal in the 80s - used to have a readers poll and Venom were always voted 'worst band' for years. People would say 'they can't even play their instruments properly' because they were used to hearing virtuosos in metal bands. I know Venom sound quite tame now but at at the time they were nearly as challenging a listen as Napalm Death were for people in the late 80s or SunnO))) are now.

I like all kind of badges you mentioned. Not many times seen mirror ones though.

"it's just noise not music", "that's not proper singing" etc. - Ahaha, I know these kinds of reasons but just couldn't think of it. Simpler reasons than i expected.. Yeah, I remember it also took me a little time to be familair with them when i was the first time trying to Black Metal but never considered their music as like those quotes. 'they can't even play their instruments properly' - 😆 So, those were the reasons. Not a big deal. What can i say. Most heavy metal fans know how much Venom is influential nowdays. To be honest, i like Venom not only because they're a legendary band tho..
