A couple of patches that I picked up at the show! Both new. Backpatch is high quality, silver screen print on canvas fabric. Measured at 18in x 15in. Smaller patch is embroidered, measured at 3.25in x 5.5in.

sweet. i bet this picture doesn't do it justice, i cant really tell it's silver. but it's still awsome. i've got the dethrone cloth printed bp.

i used to have that woven logo patch too but i think i let that one go. can you read that logo? btw. i have a friend who tried to show me how to read it. he swears the letters are some how put on their sideways and super imposed ontop of each others. it's definitely one of the more esoteric mystery's of cascadian black metal... i'm joking, i hate that- cascadian black metal.

having said that, i happen to be an initiate of the most sublime and strange mystery of cascadian black metal, and i'm of course bound by oath not to reveal to much... Velvet Cacoon.

The silver really pops in person, it's a really good looking piece. I'm tempted to keep it of course, i just dont have a use for it right now. And the embroidered patch is really large for a patch of it's type, makes it pretty unique from the others that look like it.

I saw the Dethrone bp at the show as well, but honestly I like this logo ALOT more. It's very sleek and looks really nice on the kinds of artwork they use for show posters. It's pretty tough to read, but like most of em you just have to stare at it long enough. I wouldn't say that anything is sideways, more like crooked. Definitely layered on top of itself though, a few times haha.

I find it a bit funny how people are beginning to be repulsed by the "Cascadian Black Metal" thing. Being from the Northwest myself, I love it. The music is such a great representation of our surroundings up here. Nature is very intense and present in this little sliver of the country and I think that's what these bands are trying to portray. If black metal is about presenting raw emotion using raw sound, then I think they hit the nail on the head with representing what it's like to spend a few days in mountains and woods around here. The ocean, woods and mountains are our religion in the Pacific Northwest.

i'm sorry, my post wasn't clear. i don't hate cascadian black metal, it's that term that i find a little corny, or ... maybe a little pretentious or grandios or something. but i'm living in Portland OR for the last 7 years, and i'm a huge fan of WiTTR and Velvet Cacoon, and Agalloch, and similar bands from different regions, and have been for a while. i'm a sincere lover of the music and much of the asthetic and atmospher that surrounds it. and the term is accurate. hoestly i had a conversation with a guy one time that probably caused me to be irritated by people overusing that term. and i was trying to be funny and mysterious at the same time which just confuses people most of the time. but i don't hate cascadian black metal, i'm not in love with that term though.

Oh no I didn't take it like that at all. I totally understand what you mean. It's very grandiose and pretentious. It's very fitting i think. It makes it very specific, almost elitist. I love the term myself, and it is mysterious. I try not to say it too often, I feel like it loses some of it's super natural power every time it's name is spoken. haha

So Portland huh? Lot's of good stuff around that area. I'm all the way up in Bellingham, very little comes out of here. I could count the good metal bands in the past 10 years on my fingers. Gets my ass out of the house when one of em plays a show downtown though!
