Manowar - Triumph of Steel [1992, Factory Sample/Error]
Sun, 23/04/2023 - 21:18For my 1000th upload, one of my favorite patches and one of if not the most rare item in my collection.
Vintage official Manowar - Triumph of Steel 1992 woven patch with a wrong colour palette.
Likely the result of a test run or of a wrong colour mix being fed into the machine.
Impossible to find. I have never seen another one, and I have only ever seen one other patch of this type (a Sodom - Persecution Mania 1990 edition). It's in truly incredible condition, too.

Very interesting, it almost looks like it got bleached or put through the washing machine haha. It's super cool to see this one, and the vibrant yellow around the weapons makes it seem like he's fading away after his triumph!

Yeah, initially I considered the possibility of bleaching, but that theory didn't work out.
Black areas of the regular editions are really light grey in this one, while the yellow of both editions is very similar.
I'd imagine a bleach or machine related fading would do more to the yellow if the black is changed that much. In any case, I really love looking at this patch, it's just so different from the colourscheme we usually see. :D
Edit: I just found a picture of the Sodom on my harddrive. Similar mismatch in the colour palette, but the metallic thread is where it should be haha.

It's fantastic to see it and it's indeed very very cool! I'd agree that it definitely isn't bleached, it's in far too nice condition. Simply put, the effect looks like the washed out effect you see on bleached denim or similar. Seeing some twist on one of the iconic Manowar patches is a treat :)
Oh man, the Sodom one looks so much cooler than the usual one! It fits the border colour perfectly!
