I had this back patch made in Afghanistan. I drew it on paper and had a local Afghan tailor put it on cloth.

respect. afghanistan's a politically complex situation but I have no ill feeling against most of the men and women serving in the armed forces there. Most of you guys are just people who need a job and don't really have too many choices.
How's military life like?
What do you do in terms of vocation? Signals? Artillery?
Of course, the most important part. How is the food like?
Do they feed you well?

Military life is very organized and structured. Everything is meticulously planned from the moment you wake up to whenever you lay down to sleep. I serve in the Infantry as a rifleman. You can truly call the men you serve with "brothers". They do feed us well, the cuisine is varied. We tried the local cuisine but not everyone can stomach it. Even the local water is not desirable. The locals are great, though. Obliviously living out heir lives for thousands of years. All they care about is feeding their family. Today is a memorable day for the United States. We remember 9/11. I hope many take a moment to remember worldwide.

Cool. I was in the Singapore army as a conscript but we all know that's not a 'real' army. I was always bitching about how professional we could be only if those in charge had any sense. Food was always horrible and training was usually too rigid to be applicable in a real situation.
What's the portion size like?
I remember I always was underfed in the army, especially in terms of protein.

Thank you, sir. I'm logged in with super slow wi-fi. The tailor messed up the first time he made the patch. He spelled "Krisium". So, he fixed it and he even threw in some small 4"x 4" patches of the design. I ran into another American sporting a Suffocation shirt and a Pakistani wearing a Vader shirt. Needless to say, we talked Death Metal and traded mp3s since we don't carry CDs with us.

The tailor charged me $30 for all. I will upload a photo of the small patches. We do get a chance to visit local markets. They often provide a lot of services such as tailoring. I went back with another design for a Rebaelliun patch but the tailor that made ths patch is gone. And no one else can make them like he did.
