There you go π
These are the vintage licensed Maiden back patches out there. This overview excludes different color versions and transfer-prints, and only shows the different designs.
It started with Killers in 1981 and ended with the X-Factor/Sands of Time in 1995. In total 39 back patches, with many absolute awesome designs.
If you guys and gals think I'm done collecting...I'm sorry to disappoint you π There are still a bunch of transfer-prints, licensed color versions, and bootlegs out there that I would love to get my hands on. Still a few years of work I guess π€― but this chapter is closed π€ππ€
Big shout out to everybody who helped me getting my hands on many of these pieces π€ππ€

Congratulations Jeff on all of this, it is a beautiful thing to behold! Well done for all your hard work piecing these all together and good luck on the next chapter if collecting!
Heavy Metal Chemist on
Thank you so much man! I appreciate your very kind words π€ππ€
It's such a joy to collect. Not only having the piece is cool, but the hunt and meeting so many passionate metal fans on my quest. It's great to be part of such a diverse and inspiring community π€ππ€

So that's 38 people who could have a great backpatch (instead of Five Finger Death Punch or Sabaton) just because you are so fucking greedy! Go share them, make me look at really great vests during concerts! ;)
Heavy Metal Chemist on
It's not greed. It's called preservation for future metalheads π Let the metal maniacs in 40 years also have a change to make a great jacket π€ππ€ For your grandchildren maybe π
RottingChris on
That's truly unbelievable. I'm asking myself if there are any other people out there who have such a huge backpatch collection that are maybe not part of TSS. Didn't know you finally got your hands on the Sands of Time bp π It's one of my fav Eddies. I think the Red Version of the Real Dead One is missing here, isn't it?
Heavy Metal Chemist on
Thanks mate π€ππ€
I've met a few people with big collections outside of TSS. We both know that Voidcrew is probably the collector with the biggest collection out there. The one of him is really insane π€ππ€ I decided to specialize so to say π
I was doubting whether or not to put the red Real Dead One in there. The design is the same as the white versions, so I reckoned it to be a color version. I'm not going to make a new photo though ππ
I managed to score the Sands of Time a while back. It was sewed on to a Virus bootleg sweater. When I saw it for sale I knew it was my chance π It's an absolute lovely piece.

How is your house big enough to put so much treasure in 1 pic damn
Heavy Metal Chemist on
Row of 10 patches, each ~35 cm long... I don't think 3.5 meters is that long π In my time as a student I even had more than 3.5x3.5m of space π
Balrador on
But i know you have wayyy more goodies hidden away! Congrats on this awesome achievement!
Heavy Metal Chemist on
I have no idea what you are talking about ππ€π Thanks man! π

Cool Jeff! Congrats! Biggest Maiden Collection, I think!
I still searching 5 of the Licensed Backpatches.
- SANDS OF TIME
- STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND (SECOND VERSION)
- and the 3 US-Licensed Backpatches from THE GREAT SOUTHERN COMPANY
Maybe I will find them someday!

Thank you very much man!
You know the game of patience and it is just a matter of time before we will see this kind of upload from your hands π€ππ€ Can't wait for that moment π€

I'm late to the party, but congratulations mate because this is a hall of fame post if ever I've seen one! βοΈ True dedication as hard as Iron! I look forward to seeing the 35 vests haha!

Thanks buddy! π€ππ€ Collecting with passion, not for fashion πͺππ€
I still have so many projects in mind man π This collecting thing got out of hand.. started as an innocent boy, but look where it is now, and it's be far not the end ππ
bad_american1992 on
Hot damn Jeff... my cock runneth over seeing this insane upload! This has got to be the most complete Iron Maiden BP collection ever assembled. Some of these almost never appear, like Sands of Time and Stranger, and some of these are quite pricey like Powerslave and Clairvoyant. Wish I could douse this post with more than 5 flames like it deserves! Cheers and happy collecting on those last couple BPs \m/ \m/
Heavy Metal Chemist on
Thanks mate π€ππ€ I also needed more than than one old sock to not make it a complete mess π
I think that it is complete, for now, but we have been surprised before in the past couple of years. The sealed Powerslave and the cartoon Strangers appeared, at least for me, quite late on the scene. Who knows, maybe there is another true hidden gem somewhere.
The Sands of Time, Stranger and the Great Southern Company Powerslave and Clairvoyant are the rarest in this post. But, for those who are searching, just keep searching. With dedication and patience it will happen (one day... π )
bad_american1992 on
Lol that sock will be standing on it's own! Yeah I agree Clairvoyant is insanely rare. Do you remember BansheeBrent? He was selling all his stuff right when the Covid BS started popping off here, I bought Clairvoyant and a few other BPs from him instead of toilet paper and bottled water like everyone else . To this day it's one of my all time favorite items in my collection.
Heavy Metal Chemist on
That's disgusting you dirty young man π
Of course I remember the Banshee π All Hailz to him π€ I was probably the first to take a grab out of that candy jar π It was sad to see him leave the community. He wanted to see some of his gems go into my collection so that is how I managed to get my hands on the Stranger (purple smoke version), Powerslave (sealed), Eddie Crunch (sealded), Sanctuary, and some more. Late on I took over 90% of his Megadeth back patches as well, got the Hangar 18 from him.
Good to hear you landed a few killer back patches as well! He was so fair on the prices as well.
It was kinda nasty with Covid just happening when he was selling his stuff. I waited over 4 months to receive my patches. He was telling me at the time that some people filed paypal claims (which he lost) because they had to wait too long. I didn't do it because I know the guy was legit AF and you told me that USPS doesn't have own plains to send stuff over to Europe. I hope he eventually got paid by those people thought. He was a great guy!
no karate in pit on
how many wasted years did you spend hunting as a stranger in a strange land for these beautiful patches
Heavy Metal Chemist on
Como estas amigos. Let me tell you from my Book of Souls
Like a Journeyman I had to Tame many Lands. From Paschendale to Montsugur, and from the Isle of Avalon to the Sea of Madness, I met awesome people. A Great Alexander, A Harlot called Charlotte, Lonely Long Distance Runners, Mercenaries, and a Woman in Uniform who, at 2 A.M. told me about Rimes of Ancient Mariners and 'nightmares of the seas', I met them all, now being my Blood Brothers. These times were amazing. I Dance with Death many times, and I swear.. I did Remember Tomorrow because 'I had one drink but no more'.
Don't be the Educated Fool thinking it was all easy going! Be aware before embarking on such a wild journey because you will Waste some Years. When Lightning Strikes Twice at the Edge of Darkness there is a Total Eclipse and you will have Fear of the Dark. I've been there, It was Hell on Earth! I was lonely like an Innocent Exile, a true Drifter. At my Darkest Hour I thought it was all for nothing but then...then I met a Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. He was a Clairvoyant, can you believe? It was him who told me a Prophecy and that I was just Caught in Somewhere in Time and that I didn't had to be Afraid...especially not Afraid to Shoot Strangers. He told me to head west and once I reached the Sign of a Cross I would meet a Clansman. This guy was weird man...If you thought a Stranger in Strange Lands is weird, you haven't seen this guy. Anyway...He was cool though. He turned out to be a the Lord of Light who broke my Chains of Misery and brought me to Where Eagles Dare.
I continued the road by myself. I was not afraid anymore. I knew more danger was on the way, but if I was going to die...I would Die with my Boots on an my chin held high. Death or Glory, there is no other choice! The Days of Future Past were nothing more than a Deja Vu and I kept going.... Many more untold stories happened on the way, but I will tell those in Another Life.
We are now here...I've completed this part of my journey. I'm still far from the Empire of the Clouds, but Holy Smoke...It was awesome...Collection patches is really a Strange World!
