2 different vintage prints of the patch. Maybe different producers or one is a repress? Print is pretty much the same and both are vintage materials i think
Many vtg patches have different backing material and minor differences like slightly different shade of thread used. It happens cause the machines are loaded by hand. Some are missprints and some are obviously intentional variations like colored borders. Sometimes the dimensions of the patches are also different; more black space around the design or sometimes the design is stretched. Borders can be crooked too.

I have the black backing one, I know there’s a black backing with yellow “made in England” stamp on it.

yeah it was hard to compare in those days. you couldnt exactly send an email with an image and the exact colours and sizes

Well those aren't printed - they are woven.
