I don't get it. Alestorm and Star Wars, what's the connection/joke here?
At least the patch looks nice from a quality standpoint, but it seems that they just took some recognizable pop culture icon and added some pirate attire to it without any reasoning behind it.
You're not wrong. Alestorm has toned-down the "pirate" and added more "geeky/funny" stuff to their music and image . So i guess this patch is a good representation of what they've become (whether or not that's a good thing is up for debate). I've also seen it in shirt form with "I find your lack of beer disturbing" printed on the back. I do appreciate your feedback though!
Also, the patch IS official. I didn't make that clear in the post.
Believe me, I've noticed. Hence why I stopped listening to them. They became less of band and more of a musical meme. Not that they were anything close to serious in the first place, but on their first album they at least sounded like they were trying to record something worthwhile.
