It is a tribute to old ASPHYX (and SOULBURN) really, cause I have been a big fan of everything surrounding the "ASPHYX circle" since the 90s. New ASPHYX, I don't know... for me it all died when Wannes left the band, and now it seems that Bob is out too... so only Martin is there now from old ASPHYX, which is quite an oxymoron if you think about it, since he really was part of ASPHYX for 1 album (The Rack). I mean he left the band during the recordings of "Last one...", so he basically did his recording obligation and left. But now... he seems to be the "last one..." left ;-) Nevertheless, I am curious to check their new album (out in some weeks/month I think). For me the mystique (old) is gone, but all strength to ASPHYX of course, I know they are still crushing and a whole new generation of fans is introduced in their great old stuff from the 90s.

Definitely check out "Embrace the Death" their REAL debut, which was supposed to be released one year before "The Rack", i.e. 1990. Back then Theo Loomans (RIP) graced the vocals, a very charismatic and DARK vocalist. I still believe that the debut has some unparalleled magic in it...
