It comes from an old stock: it's in excellent condition.

I always thought the ones I saw were all in bad condition, but I think in reality it's just the design.

I might be able to get hold of one of these patches, but I'm not really a collector of AC/DC myself & am wondering if it hold much value in the patch trading market? I haven't seen it around often so I'm assuming it's fairly rare(?)

Uncommon, but not very sought after I'd say. Value fluctuates as for every patch, but you won't get rich with this one.
