Clipping leather jacket flaps onto a denim vest

Dweller of the ...

I wanna have the flaps of my leather jacket be able to attach to a rivet on my denim vest so it will look like it does in this post https://tshirtslayer.com/battle-jacket/studs-denim-and-leather
does anyone know what I can do to make sure the flaps securely stay on there?

Probably the easiest way to do it would be to cut a hole on either side of the denim vest where the press stud on the leather sits so you could just clip the leather strap to the leather jacket as normal. Otherwise I suppose you would have to try and find a press stud the exact same size and put it on the denim vest to clip the flaps on.
