Far from being finished. One half almost got the base covered. Decided to finally upload it to see progress. Still need more patches and time, but I'm getting there.;-)

I'll never get how people can have their vest less than 40% covered and still have patches overlapping each other. Other than that it looks like a nice start. I've never seen that Blind Guardian patch before. Probably my favorite album they've done.

Many thanks for the flames, mate! Yeah, it's also one of my favorite Blind Guardian albums! It's a very common and recent official patch though, you find it on almost every patch site. I'm not really that happy with it, though, since you can't really pick out the intricate details of the artwork. It's more of a big yellow blur.;-) But again one of my favorite albums, so it had to be on there. I don't like to cover patches either, but I was at a loss about how to fill the space next to the pocket and this was the best way. I didn't cover up the logo's and left the art recognizable, so I'm actually really happy with it. I have a lot more patches to put on, so eventually everything will be covered.

Yeah, Nater90 gave me a link to it. The picture was kind of crappy though. Just a jpeg file superimposed over a patch-like background. But I can imagine that it looks kind of like a mess. Highly detailed artwork translates badly into patches with an area of 10x10 cm.

Yeah it's not nearly inte level of "german" patching(You know, the kind where most of the patches are 2/3 covered by each other). And sometimes overlapping is inevitable.

O, but the german ones "The Old Beast" and "Speed Queen" are actually my favorites. Those are the stuff of legend. Though I doubt mine will ever be that intricate. But I am also a fan of other simpler ones. Also very reluctant to cut into patches and I would never as you say cover 2/3's of an actual patch.

Personally I just think they look like clusterfucks. There is so much going on in them that nothing really stands out. I prefer it when you have a choice cut of about 10-20 patches. But I guess it's my quasi-OCD haunting me again. ^^

Yeah that one was great while it lasted. It vanished under mysterious(aka drunken) circumstances years ago. ^^

Three actually. But I'm OCD as fuck when it comes to jackets as mentioned above. So I'm not uploading them here util they are "done" witch in the oldest ones case has been going on for about 2-3 years. ^^

Ok, now I'm curious. ;-) Yeah, probably wouldn't have uploaded this, but I wanted some kind of record of the progress I've made. Back is coming along nicely. More satisfied with it than I am with the front, anyway. But this time I'll wait until it's (as good as) done to upload it.
