If you plan on making a full vest I would wait till you have more patches before you start sewing or you will wind up with wasted space.

Definitely sleeves off.
As advised already, I would wait until you have hold of all the patches you want, otherwise you'll probably end up cutting and resewing (I speak from experience...!).

Take the advice form here, very usefull, and think about space for studs if you wanted to. every metalhead makes these simples mistakes and afterwards you end up rearranging the whole jacket. just because you dont want a group of only red patches and next to it only blue. It's gonna be an hard puzzle! and enjoy!!

Awesome taste in tunes, Take the sleeves off!!! If you want "sleeves" use a leather jacket or hoodie underneath.

I would sew them more together and perhaps wait, till you have the other patches. If there are more strippatches to come, they may vary a bit in height ;-)
