I just started my first battle jacket this week. I was thinking on buying more big patches for the back, and I ordered some small ones too. What do you guys think?
I would surround the Motörhead with studs out surround it with enough patches as to leave no gaps and I think you could put a few more large patches on the back. I can add that you shouldn't just put two rows of patches on the front and call it quits. Even if you want to go minimalistic make it kind of creative but that's just a few of my opinions on that.
Props for sewing both of the patches as centered and symmetrically as you did, I could definitely picture another back patch at the bottom, keep us posted on the progress!

A fine start. I'd go with your plan of adding to it.
