Mastodon GrimmKing - First Battle Jacket

Yeah I know, it's not only metal on there and besides that limited to the commercial bands. Only collected patches for like a month and couldn't find much else, but there's still space left anyway. I'm dying to find some Mastodon patches, so if anyone knows where to get them... Same goes for Black Tide.

So far I've only seen Metallica, RatM and Motorhead live of the bands featured on the jacket. Planning on seeing Iron Maiden and perhaps A7X (if they return to their earlier stuff).

Also, being quite tall and skinny, had to resize the jacket by cutting out some 15 cm froms the sides, see the before/after. Result is that t-shirt prints are now more visible.

Your jacket is looking good though. Reminds me of when I started collecting and all I had at first was a lot of the more commercial stuff. Can always alter or remove patches you get bored of anyway. I agree with Yorick-Xorgal too...that Black Sabbath patch is quite cool!

Indeed, my first jacket was full of commercial stuff as well. Besides that, if that are the bands you like, who cares what others say about it. It's your jacket and it reflects your taste.

I love the Backpatch, i have the same one on my bedroom wall, you can't go wrong with a Kill em' All backpatch!!!
Also like the Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Motorhead and Iron Maiden Patches, the cool thing about patch jackets is that you can always change all you want as you go along, i bet in a couple of year's time there will be another bands on display on that jacket, just keep on exploring new bands, and don't just listen what is more known, dig depper!!

I wouldn't say he has weird taste in music- it's not like Metallica, Sabbath and Maiden are ultra-underground bands or anything.

Avenged Sevenfold are probably my most hated band in the world, but you wear the patches that represent you and I respect you for it. Don't take any of the shit to heart- but then again I'm sure you'll probably look back on Avenged Sevenfold and wonder what you were thinking.

Heh. Lots of comments "all of a sudden". I am very aware it's not a very heavy metal jacket and very commercial and that a lot of heavy metal enthusiasts may have a problem with that. That aside, been adding some Slayer and Megadeth patches to the back, which is now a bit denser as well with new patches.

Don't have any pictures of it now, tho. Would like to start anew on another jacket, but I really have to come across something that I am going to enjoy for years to come. This current one can be considered an early prototype, that's why I won't remove anything as it is :P

If it gets to that I'll keep you posted. Probably gonna be more original designs/prints on it and far less a dense collection of patches as orthodox battle jackets have.

Oh btw, A7X patch is only there for the City of Evil album. Newer stuff is crap.

Really interesting jacket. I'm surprised by the foo fighters, nirvana, avenged sevenfold, red hot chilli peppers, and system of a down patches, but nonetheless, it's a pretty fuckin sweet kutte.
